J&R Electronics unplugs its e-commerce site

The long-lasting shopper hardware retailer closes down its site under a month in the wake of shutting its New York store.

Close behind closing down its notorious shopper hardware store in Lower Manhattan, J&R Music and PC World has shut its online business webpage.

The dealer, which opened its Lower Manhattan store in 1971, developed from a little retail facade into a block-long hardware giant. A message from proprietors Joe and Rachelle Friedman posted on JR.com says the organization intends to change its area into “an exceptional retailing idea and social mecca.” The organization says it will share further subtleties on the “rethought and redeveloped” store before very long.

No further subtleties were offered and J&R didn’t answer a solicitation for input.

The organization actually sells online through its Amazon store, yet a Facebook posting from May 1 advances an “stock liquidation deal.”

J&R was a previous Top 500 shipper. It was last recorded in the 2012 version, with a Web Retailer-assessed $168.0 million of every 2011 web deals, up by 4.5% from $160.7 million out of 2010. The retailer additionally made Web Retailer’s 2007 Best of the Internet list…
